I decided to do a freestyle to Jay z's run This town you know the one with some of the biggest pop stars of our time rihanna and kanye west. Due to the epic collaboration of talent and sound of the guitar I decided to do some editing and add visual effects and make a video. Here is the result. I make the jay-z response in the second verse not because I have beef with him or whatever but because I didn't agree with his statement Jesus can't save you in empire state of mind. I honestly don't know if he really meant that or if it was speaking of the character he was portraying. For those that don't know I called and hoped and prayed this would be Corinne Bailey Rae's next single. It just has that repeatable everlasting joyous feeling to it. It just soars musically and of course Corinne's voice just takes it to a different stratosphere. The beginning of the vid is how I pictured it in my mind except she was sitting on the other side of the table. I think if it gets the right airplay it can be song of the year. (I mean I did call viva la vida as soon as I heard it too) But I won't get too hype because come on I didn't write any of those songs haha. I am a firm believer that Corinne Bailey Rae is the voice of our generation. It's so unique and just arrests your soul whether you want it to be or not. This song and her future album "The Sea" will be about her process of grief after the sudden and tragic death of her husband Jason Rae (R.I.P.). I feel like I've been living the words to this song for 3 years (especially the part of the video where she's walking through people but feeling alone great job to the director of the video on that one). She truly has captured an immortal and eternal yearning of the human soul for someone on this earth to love. Very well captured. I pray she finds peace in the midst of her mourning God bless her. Mr. Hudson is a genius. I feel like this guy knows that everybody is secretly influenced by phil collins that is prominent and music today and he has just decided to fill this gap. This is one of my favorite Epik High Songs. I think it's a good response to the last post. I heard Tablo said when he was writing the album he felt God calling him to write about certain things. The subtitle to this song on the album is "Return to the Father." I wonder if it's true. It makes sense to me. God loves every piece of us even the mess we've made ourselves into. Like the one line I love the sight of your back ever shrinking away. God loves us even when we leave. Hence the second song by Epik High as well Called One, Tablo said he wrote this one to fans but the subtitle to this album is crown of thorns hmmmmm? what do you think. So if you know me you guys know I am a HUUUUGE Clazziquai fan. I have been like completely taken out of my box since I've first heard their music. I love the melody lyrically in this song. It's just awesome. And near the end around 3:40 it sounds like Dj Clazzi may have been listening to coldplay by the placement of the o's at the end. And of course the stages are just craaaaazy! But darn it Alex and Horan always stay glued to one part of the stage haha. I like the second song as well. They definitely helped me formulate putting together a cd of different genres. I am constantly reminded as an artist and a christian I have an obligation to be a voice for the downtrodden. Like my man Jesus said, I have been set apart by God to preach justice and set the captives free. You may have a different belief system as me but family we must and I repeat MUST see that "a threat to justice somewhere is a threat to justice anywhere." I feel that so many times as I watch news I'm disconnected from humanity as I say "whew good thing it's not me" instead of thinking this is evidence that it could be me. I prayed to God today for inspiration to finish writing my album with these last two posts I definitely got it. I can't believe stuff like this happens. This is flat out racism and is ILLEGAL!!! These black camp kids were kicked out of a pool because white parents complained that they would do something bad to their kids. This is unacceptable. For everybody that thought Obama ended racism in America is wrong. It just shows that America can be greater than racism. Let us all love each other we are all God's children. When will we learn. Every time I think we're past this stuff, bull like this happens. I don't hate anyone but I have a responsibility to speak on injustice.

If a groundhog can be celebrated out of superstition why not Michael Jackson the greatest musician to do it worldwide. I study pop culture and music worldwide and I think he deserves it. He's not perfect who is. Study someone you admire and you will find a flaw and even if you don't it's there. Michael Jackson was a tortured soul who tried his best to fit in but then he decided to create despite the fact that he didn't and he reminds me no matter who is against you or what they say you still can create something that can transcend anyone's struggle or reality including your own. Man I was soooo hype when I found out about Gilberto Franca. This dude is dope I favorited like all of his videos. I wish I could get a cd of his somehow. This Korean CCM band is no "tini" feat

This is a band I stumbled upon on yesasia.com named Tini. I am ordering their cd spaceboy tomorrow. I was originally attracted to them by their cover art and their space themed CD title (because I am working on one as well I'll post some sample cd covers at a later post). And they are actually dope. I love their atmospheric textures. The theme to their Cd and this song is that without Christ we are just like a boy wandering through space lost and disconnected. This video is craaazy. It just spans the whole world kind of wandering aimlessly from various successes and failures and in between. Sonically they remind me of a korean band named Nell but a little grungier. I've decided I want to make music that gives people a tangible feeling or texture or takes them to a specific place in every song. This is a good template of sorts. And oh yeah they're a christian band in Korea you dont' get more underground then that. If I had my record label going I would sign them. BELIEVE IT( as Naruto would say... I found this artist George Schneeman (who died recently at the age of 74 R.I.P) And I must say I love his art I like the eclectic tangibility created. First of all let me say I got this from common's blog. Secondly WTF stands for World Thorium Fuel which is the name of this Cadillac concept car. Okay fam so I desperately need to get out of richmond at least for a little bit. I am a huge fan of architecture mixed with awesome nature. I have spent countless hours looking at it. Maybe you can relate to David in this text. Maybe you can’t relate to the church or God part and definitely not the pilgrims haha, but you can say that life’s been rough for you. You can remember the good ol days of happiness and they don’t match up with your today all because of one event. And whatever event that happened on that one day (or series of days and events) has in your mind forever shaped who you are, will, or CAN be. David was sad and injured deep in his soul by the words and deeds of others but also gives a really dope alternative. David says he pours out his soul or sheds his soul within himself. Sounds weird right like a snake? (Maybe even a little emo haha.) But to pour or shed means to leave, to never return or reminisce on the comforts of an old skin that no longer represents you.
Imagine a beautiful colored snake (might be hard if you don’t like snakes) basing its current state of beauty on an old dried up batch of skin that used to be its home. Instead of looking dwelling and reflecting on its new refreshed pattern it keeps defining itself by the old dusty skin. Perhaps that’s like us (I know it’s like me), many times we let what people have said or done to us in the past define who we are and all we can be today. Today’s dope thought is to let the dead skin die. You may be able to see the old skin but other people don’t unless you show them (especially true in dating). Today you are dope and a beautiful reflection of God’s handiwork. Go shine little homey (and homietta) as the beacons of God’s beauty. And if you make a mistake or someone else hurts you come to God to help you shed those negative thoughts and ask him to give you some new skin (or thoughts) and continue shining. Snakes NEVER run out of new skin and God NEVER runs out of grace so it’s up to you. Please adopt this life changing swagger enhancing dopeness

However if you have ever looked at your PDA and thought man what time is it...welp there's no.cure for stupidity. The I mobile (no association with Apple) is a watch and PDA. I like to think of it as a wristberry (wrist watch and blackberry get it OH hahaha)..ahem anyways. So for forgetful people like myself this can be quite handy or "wristy." (Sorry I love puns.) Just pick up your remote and ApriPoko will ask you what you're doing and take the signal from your remote and memorize it (what a smart bald little penguin). Now instead of hitting a button on the remote control (such hard work I know) you can now just tell ApriPoko to change the channel for you. Holy convenience Batman!!
