THE VOICE OF OUR GENERATION HAS RETURNED!

I am a firm believer that Corinne Bailey Rae is the voice of our generation. It's so unique and just arrests your soul whether you want it to be or not. This song and her future album "The Sea" will be about her process of grief after the sudden and tragic death of her husband Jason Rae (R.I.P.). I feel like I've been living the words to this song for 3 years (especially the part of the video where she's walking through people but feeling alone great job to the director of the video on that one). So if you know me you guys know I am a HUUUUGE Clazziquai fan. I have been like completely taken out of my box since I've first heard their music. I love the melody lyrically in this song. It's just awesome. And near the end around 3:40 it sounds like Dj Clazzi may have been listening to coldplay by the placement of the o's at the end. And of course the stages are just craaaaazy! But darn it Alex and Horan always stay glued to one part of the stage haha. I like the second song as well. They definitely helped me formulate putting together a cd of different genres. I was really impressed by this song on T.I's album from the subject content to of course one of my biggest musical influences John Legend and the production. The whole thing. Like my man Jesus said, I have been set apart by God to preach justice and set the captives free. You may have a different belief system as me but family we must and I repeat MUST see that "a threat to justice somewhere is a threat to justice anywhere." I feel that so many times as I watch news I'm disconnected from humanity as I say "whew good thing it's not me" instead of thinking this is evidence that it could be me. I prayed to God today for inspiration to finish writing my album with these last two posts I definitely got it. RACISM IN 2009 UNBELIEVABLE!!

I can't believe stuff like this happens. This is flat out racism and is ILLEGAL!!! These black camp kids were kicked out of a pool because white parents complained that they would do something bad to their kids. This is unacceptable. For everybody that thought Obama ended racism in America is wrong. It just shows that America can be greater than racism. Let us all love each other we are all God's children. When will we learn. Every time I think we're past this stuff, bull like this happens. I don't hate anyone but I have a responsibility to speak on injustice.

So apparently to some my suggestion may be controversial but I'm not trying to say let's make a day where we worship Michael Jackson my view is. If a groundhog can be celebrated out of superstition why not Michael Jackson the greatest musician to do it worldwide. I study pop culture and music worldwide and I think he deserves it. He's not perfect who is. Study someone you admire and you will find a flaw and even if you don't it's there. This Korean CCM band is no "tini" feat

This is a band I stumbled upon on yesasia.com named Tini. I am ordering their cd spaceboy tomorrow. I was originally attracted to them by their cover art and their space themed CD title (because I am working on one as well I'll post some sample cd covers at a later post). And they are actually dope. I love their atmospheric textures. The theme to their Cd and this song is that without Christ we are just like a boy wandering through space lost and disconnected. This video is craaazy. It just spans the whole world kind of wandering aimlessly from various successes and failures and in between. Sonically they remind me of a korean band named Nell but a little grungier. I've decided I want to make music that gives people a tangible feeling or texture or takes them to a specific place in every song. This is a good template of sorts. And oh yeah they're a christian band in Korea you dont' get more underground then that. If I had my record label going I would sign them. BELIEVE IT( as Naruto would say... Dope Artist R.I.P. George Schneeman

So I was reading some news at the New York Times' website and I thought I'd check out the art department. I found this artist George Schneeman (who died recently at the age of 74 R.I.P) And I must say I love his art I like the eclectic tangibility created. The third picture is a collab he did with a poet so it's actually a book of poems. This got me thinking about ideas for my album I'm working on. I can't reveal those ideas now on the world wide web of aspiring musicians and copyright infringers though haha. Anyways when I see this picture I can hear music maybe I'll make some songs about these pictures and post them for you guys to hear. hmm anyways please enjoy this vibrant brain singeing dopeness.

Cadillac's "WTF" FTW

First of all let me say I got this from common's blog. Secondly WTF stands for World Thorium Fuel which is the name of this Cadillac concept car. And I must say I hope Cadillac leads the way for American car makers that are still mostly releasing pick up trucks (oh yeah I forgot fuel efficient pick up trucks) The reason I believe the american car market is behind is not just fuel efficiency but the mass appeal of the car in the U.S. and across the world. Nobody's whipping pick up trucks like that. I know the market is in trouble and everything but when I get enough money to buy a car it's going to be a nissan 350z sorry the other cars just don't look as appealing. But anyways way to go Cadillac rumor is this car will be maintenance free for 100 years. Please enjoy this state of the art dopeness!

WHY I NEED TO GET OUT OF RICHMOND!!

Okay fam so I desperately need to get out of richmond at least for a little bit. I am a huge fan of architecture mixed with awesome nature. I have spent countless hours looking at it. This is the rock of gibraltar (at least that's what the description said) and the second one is a spa in mexico (again the description said so) okay it's beautiful right now phase over to richmond, VA land of grass and roadkill and oh wait tractor pulls GIT ER DONE! So last night I was looking up fun things to do in richmond. They suggested a art museum (which I've heard is thoroughly wack and half shutdown) and oh yes let's not forget the confederate white house (psst history lesson the confederates still wish I were a slave) and get this the top 10 fun things to do in richmond told me to go to Washington DC and North Carolina. EPIC FAIL RICHMOND EPIC FAIL! And of course some people say just go clubbin but I'd prefer not to get shot seeing as though plaxico burress and friends love to go the club with trackpants concealing uzzi's. anyways richmond is pretty boring. You remember that whole virginia is for lovers commercial .....false advertisement. welp I gotta get out of here fam. But until then please enjoy this aesthetic sense defying dopeness.

Two songs same message

Man this kind of coincides with the previous post but these are two songs I blast like everyday because I want it to be embedded into my very being. I want to be aware and active in the lives of those around me. I want to be really about helping and serving people and showing them Christ. Including you the person reading. Now some of you may say geez man you're going super Jesus on us. but I say I go "super Jesus" because the world (including myself) is "super jacked up." Anyways I like the first video by Marvin Gaye it sings about two questions not asked enough by humanity "what's going on" and "what's happening brother" what if we sincerely asked people this question. I feel sad because today I read that a man after losing his job killed himself his wife and 5 children. The last thing a person said to him before he snapped was something negative and sarcastic. Man what if those words were one of the phrases Marvin was singing about instead. Maybe they'd still be alive. You got power fam use it. Enjoy this socially aware dopeness

Man I've been waiting for Hillsong to release this ever I got the Cd. This is what we are put on earth to do love God and love our neighbors. I firmly believe that we've been missing the mark as Christians for loving our neighbor and being Jesus to people. We've been od'ing on loving God and ignoring others (me included). OH SNAP THIS IS MY "DUKIE"!!

Okay so most people dont' know (and I just found out 2 days ago) that at the end of his life Duke Ellington returned to the devout Christian faith of his youth and felt God calling him to spend the rest of his life to use his talent to be His messenger to the wayward. And so the Duke did He wrote 3 sacred concert albums and those were the last works until he died. He described it as his most meaningful work in his life. Anyways I've been blasting the "second sacred concert" cd that he recorded with swedish singer Alice Babs. Here is some RAAAARE footage of the concerts. check it out.
